Wargrave Wolves Football Club’s genesis came as a result of informal training sessions on Saturday mornings at Wargrave’s Recreation Ground. With no formal club in Wargrave local parents and their 4 – 5 year olds met up on an informal basis each week for an hour of relaxed training and games.
The group grew to 20+ boys who had progressed really well and needed qualified coaching, appropriate insurance and regular matches against other local teams.
As a result local fathers acquired FA Coaching Certificates and put them into practice, training continued at the Recreation Ground, friendly games were played once a month, and parents were encouraged to continue to offer their support and assistance as they had done to date.
Then in September 2010 the Wolves, with the help of local club Twyford Comets, entered formal league football and registered 3 teams. In May 2012 the club applied to the FA to set up in its own right for the 2012/2013 season and the rest as they say is history!
